Julia Jordan

Julia Jordan started her musical career at the age of nine, when she auditioned and was accepted into an Off-Broadway theater in New York City, TADA! Professional Children’s Theater. A few years later she started school at the High School for Music and Art and the Performing Arts (the FAME school), where she studied classical vocal techniques, music theory, guitar, and songwriting.

Julia continued to perform at TADA through high school, and by the time she reached graduation she had performed in 8 main-stage musicals and staged readings; appeared on a few PBS series’ educational shows and HBO documentaries; and had begun writing and performing her own original music.

After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Northern Arizona University, Julia made her way out to Southern California where she began teaching voice, guitar, and songwriting to kids; and performing “Conscious Acoustic Soul” music with her band.

In the Spring of 2010, Julia traveled to Sierra Leone, West Africa to teach a Creative Arts workshop for teenage girls in Kabala Town for two weeks. She plans on expanding this model to create a cross-cultural arts experience for students around the world to learn about each other through their art and music.
